Our dedicated Wellness Center is testament to our commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of our students. The Center offers a quiet space, with its own kitchen and garden, where students can take a break from the busy school day, attend specific groups or activities or seek support. Supervised by the Wellbeing Center team, the center is open during the school day as well as advertised evenings and weekends.

The House system plays an integral role in monitoring the mental health of our students. The majority of our teaching staff are trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid, enabling them to spot early signs and offer initial support and advice as part of our daily pastoral care.

Students with more specific needs can access support through our medical or counseling teams, and the School has very close links with CAMHS and the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Following feedback from our school community, we joined forces with TeenTips to provide the wellness hubs to our students, parents and entire staff. This platform offers relevant, up-to-date resources and information for each constituency and will empower everyone to support their own mental health and wellbeing, as well as that of others. We are particularly pleased that parents are included here and hope that many of them will benefit from the webinars and online support offered through the Wellbeing Hub.

We have a strict mobile phone policy to enable students to get a good night’s sleep and participate fully in the busy life of the school. It’s the ethos of getting involved and trying new things, broadening horizons and gaining new experiences.

Keeping fit and an outlet for potential stress or anxiety is extremely important in a rigorous academic environment, and co-curriculars play a vital role in this.

In addition to being active, we expect all students to properly fuel their bodies and brains by eating regularly and healthily. The Dining Hall offers a fantastic spread of food, catering for all students, including those with dietary requirements. Attendance at all three meals from Monday to Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sunday is mandatory.
